All of Centering’s massages are based on our ‘Signature Massage.’ Our Signature Massage will include hot stones glided over you, and a hot towel compress for your back using our Lotus Touch Seaweed gel. You will have the option of having your hands and feet wrapped in hot towels, having a hot towel scalp or face massage, and/or receiving an exfoliation using our exfoliation gloves with your massage.

The Hot Stone Rub

The LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) can get into working the muscles and moving energy throughout the body by increasing blood supply that comes from the hot stones.  Centering’s stones are made of basalt rock. Because of the spin of the earth, Basalt rocks are negatively charged. (Sea salt can also recharge our rocks and we use this weekly with them.) Toxins cannot live in a negatively charged environment. But beware…you might feel a little sleepy for the next two hours following the massage as these toxins are moved out of the body. Then…you will feel a lift of spirits and energy as your body rejoices in getting that nasty stuff out!

The Seaweed Gel Wrap

Seawater comes the closest to mimicking our minerals and elements in our blood. This balance of minerals will change the blood pH to 7.3. This perfect pH and mineral balance will create a shift in cells enabling your body to get rid of toxins. Blood that has a pH of 7.3 stimulates lymphatic drainage and brings homeostasis to your brain giving you better concentration and more restful sleep. Our SeaWeed Gel Wrap also contains White Willow bark…a natural aspirin. This will help keep you from getting so sore the next day.

Wrapping the Feet and Hands in Hot Towels

Your meridians (what acupuncturists work with) begin and end in your hands and feet. Meridians are deep rivers of emotions. Nothing can stay chronic without an emotional attachment. Since your brain cannot digest emotions it is left up to your gut/viscera and meridians to get the job done. When we wrap the hands and feet with hot towels it helps to open those meridians up.

Hot Towel Face or Scalp Massage

A hot towel face or scalp massage is like working a whole other body. As your face relaxes from the heat and massage strokes, the 12 cranial nerves (10 of them in the face) can then relax. As the nerves relax, the facial muscles relax, your breath becomes more slowed and even. Now the body feels the release of tension. The warm moist heat prepares your subcutaneous layer for massaging letting stress literally melt from your body. And you get your smile back!

Full Body Exfoliation

Full body exfoliation is excellent when daylight hours are at 12 and 12,  if you’re coming off from being ill, or taking excessive drugs or other toxic exposures. By scrubbing up the skin and opening the pores, your body can release toxins through the skin. One’s liver must digest toxins or it will store it somewhere in the body until daylight hours are 12/12 then it pulls those toxins back into the liver and tries to detox them. But if your skin is open, the liver will push those toxins out through the skin. This is an EASY way to boost your immune system. Now all you need to do is take a hot shower when you get home to wash those toxins OFF your skin.

Warm Moist Heat

We use a lot of warm moist heat at Centering Massage.Your skin is your largest organ on your body. Your lymph system is the biggest part of your immune system. Lymph vessels have a bigger mouth than the veins do and can thus pick up large protein cells that the veins cannot. You also have twice as many lymph vessels as blood vessels. 60% of those lymph vessels are just below the surface.  Now you know why effleurage strokes during your massage are so important. Not only do they push the blood toward the heart giving you fresh oxygenated blood but also moves the lymph getting those toxins moved out of the body.

What does this mean to you following your massage?  Drink LOTS of water for two hours following your massage. We moved a lot of toxins and your body wants them OUT! You will get the biggest bang for your buck with this post treatment.
